Regional Training Camps are an integral part of Player Development, Coach Education and Talent Identification. Regular RTC's allow players to gather and practice together, compete and network away from tournaments. It is a known fact that the most successful players in the world, generally belong to a strong peer group (for example Sampras, Agassi, Courier all played and practiced together).
Players skills and strategy are filmed during the camps, offering players and coaches an invaluable tool to aid improvement. This same footage can also be used my the federation to help in Talent Identification purposes, and also allows collaboration between national and private coaches - all to the player's benefit.
Camps are typically run on a weekend so as not to impact any tournaments or events. Private coaches and parents are encouraged to attend - the goal of the RTC is to provide game improvement tools to coaches, players and parents.
RTC's will be offered in the 4 regions twice a year, and select players will be invited to attend a National Training Camp once per year. The camp format follows the lead and improves on concepts used by other leading tennis federations.
