🎾 1st 2 Shots
On hard and grass, just over 30% of all points ended before any player could hit a 2nd ball. On clay though, this was 5% lower (25%), attributed to the slower surface muting the impact of the 1st shot.
🎾 7+ Rallies
On clay, there were significantly more longer rallies than on the faster surfaces. And just like the guys, on the red clay of Roland Garros 30% of all rallies were longer than 7 shots (7% higher than the other surfaces)
🎾 Mid-length Rallies
Rallies between 3 and 6 shots averaged 45% on all surfaces.
For all surfaces, rallies of 7 shots or more were only 2% higher for girls than boys
(boys 23%, girls 25%).
