For the month of October we will look at data from the junior event at the 2022 US Open. For this we have looked at a total of 14,986 points (Boys – 7,337, Girls – 7,649)

60% of all rallies in the girls’ division were done within 4 shots. 77% of all rallies ended within 6 shots (3 or less touches by each player).
Similar to the guys, in the 5 to 8 range, most points end earlier on (5 to 6 – 17%, 7 to 8 – 10%).

But in practice, this should never be done at the expense of the 2 most important shots played – the serve and return.
Unfortunately, in most lessons these are the 2 most neglected shots.
