Under pressure (serving break point down, or 1 point away from break point, e.g. 15-30, 30-30), he was even better.
- He made 63% of first serves and won a whopping 89% of those points!
- On the 37% chance that opponents got a look at his second serve, opponents only won 48% compared to Novak’s 57%.
- This combination helped the world #1 perform 16% better saving break points.
On the rare occasion that opponents did get a break point, they won just 1 in every 6.
Perhaps the bigger story is WHERE he targeted first serves. Novak goes wide in deuce court and to T in ad court – to his opponent’s forehand.
