Stat of the Week | May 25, 2022

Every week, Tennis Analytics dives deep into the data, bringing you a stat of the week to help you understand tennis better and become a little smarter.

Stat of the Week: 33%

We are having deja vu all over again. Last week the magic number was also 33%, the number of winners Alcaraz hit compared to his errors.

But you know who’s been even more dominant than Alcaraz as of late? Iga Swiatek.

Swiatek wins almost 70% of points when she makes a first serve.

Like Alcaraz, she makes few errors, hits a ton of winners (1 winner for every 2 errors). And then she smothers her opponents, drawing them to make FOUR errors to each winner.

Point of the Week

All points end in a winner or error for one of the players. Knowing the breakdown of point ending shots, especially your own errors, is invaluable to helping you plan the practice court.

Watch how our clients filter and view winners & errors. Purchase a player package to do the same for your game.

Quote of the Week

Not assuming you already know is a powerful principle of focus.
