We would expect that the 1st serve is more devastating on quicker surfaces. To verify this and also look at how big the gaps are, we pulled ATP and WTA data from 2018-2021 on both clay and hard courts.

While first serve percentage remained pretty comparable between the two surfaces, it was easier for top players to win first serve points on hard courts.
For the men, hard courts paid a 5% higher ace dividend than clay.
